Would You Take A Space Vacation?

Space, the next frontier, has been a hot topic in the travel world as of late. NASA recently announced that for a whopping $350,000 guests can head up to the International Space Station for a vacation where they help with research and gaze down on Earth. Now, a space technology start-up called Orion Span has designed what they are purporting to be the first space hotel aptly named Aurora Station. This station is a lot more luxurious than the ISS and will be designed with the first time-space traveler in mind. Aurora Station will not be put into orbit until 2020 which means if you want an interstellar vacation there is some time to save up.

Aurora Station’s Amenities
So what does the first space hotel have to offer its guests? The sleeping pods will be specialized for each guest who sets foot on the space station, the height of space cuisine will also be on offer, along with games like floating ping pong. The Instagram stories from this hotel will literally be out of this world as you get to see those fortunate enough to board the Aurora get to float around and record their entire trip with the onboard Wi-fi.
Preparation
A trip to space is not without any preparation though. You cannot simply board a space shuttle and be dropped off, you do need a three-month training session to prepare for your time aboard the Aurora. The training is called the Orion Span Astronaut Certification program which will have you being trained by those who have been in the aeronautical industry for decades.

Onboard Activities
Each trip is roughly 12-days longs which means you could play a lot of ping pong but there are other activities to keep you busy. One of the most important things that is done aboard the ISS is food production, specifically being able to grow vegetables on board which is what you will do on Aurora Station. The best part about this activity is that if you manage to get something to grow you will actually get to take it back when you return to Earth. You can show your friends and family your tomato plant that you started in space. How cool is that?
