Mother-in-law told bride-to-be that she would have to dye her hair for the big day
Your wedding day is supposed to be one of the most wonderful days of your life. It is the day you marry your best friend and vow to love one another for the rest of your days. You are surrounded by your nearest and dearest family and friends. For most, this day took weeks and months to put together, they have carefully selected every person in the wedding party, from the decor to the million other little details that need attention when planning your special day. The one thing a bride does not think she needs to worry about is a comment from her mother-in-law regarding her hair color. Future relative relationships are always somewhat complicated, considering one side is new to the other usually. In this case, the groom’s mother took things to a whole other level with her request of the bride on her very own wedding day. It is unorthodox, to say the least, and the way the bride reacted is a tale of the new family dynamic and how interesting it can be.
Wedding planning
There are many details that go into planning a wedding and the two people that truly make the final decision are not, surprisingly, the bride and groom. The couple may decide to seek the advice of their friends, family, and other professionals in the industry, but it is advice and not the strict path.

So when the bride was asked by her future mother-in-law to dye her hair for the big day, it was not received well.

Nameless
Our bride has decided to remain anonymous while she posted her mother-in-law wedding fiasco on Reddit. The bride wanted to share with others her ordeal with her mother-in-law so that she could get some advice as to what she could do to let her future mother-in-law down easy.

However, what the bride did not expect is the amount of traction and attention her post would garner therefore soon after posting, she deleted it. She did not want it getting back to her mother-in-law considering their relationship was already an unsteady one. Asking her to dye her hair? Unsteady indeed.

Matchy matchy
The reasoning behind why the mother-in-law wanted the bride to dye her hair is due to the fact that they both had red hair. The bride has natural red hair, while the mother-in-law dyes hers. Clearly, the bride was not about to dye her hair and often spoke out about how much she loved her hair color.

There is absolutely no way people would confuse the two of them considering the fact that one will be in a wedding gown and one will not. This was quickly turning into an uncomfortable situation, not to mention the mother-in-law asking something completely inappropriate.

Getting to the root of it
Our bride is a smart one, she was not going to dye her hair and found it very hypocritical that her future mother-in-law would ask such a thing when she herself dyes her hair to a very similar color. The bride thought that there was more to her mother-in-law’s request than just not liking her hair color.

While she was not about to dye her hair under any condition, she wanted to delve a little deeper in order to figure out why her mother-in-law was making such a request; something did not add up.
