Everything you need to know about Aquaman Jason Momoa
Jason Momoa and action heroes are basically the same things. The self-described “savage” has many different sides that the world doesn’t know. He is part artist, part big kid, and overall softie. But what else do we not know about the rugged hunk? Momoa has played roles in movies such as Justice League where he plays his most famous character Aquaman, Conan the Barbarian, Braven, Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, Road to Paloma, The Bad Batch, Sugar Moutain, The Lego Movie 2: The second part, Debug and more. Although he did many things in-between, his time of the Game of Thrones placed him on top of the acting pile. With other shows including Stargate Atlantis, The Red Road, Baywatch, and Frontier, he is certainly no stranger to acting and has a wealth of experience under his belt.
A Softie Really
He was thrown into the public eye from the second he became Khal Drogo in the first season of Game of Thrones, but now the world knows him as Aquaman. From the beard, the long locks, body art, and ripped physique, he has female fans swooning over him wherever he goes.
The first Aquaman trailer created a frenzy and the movie has gone on to smash box office records. The fantasy/sci-fi movie see Momoa playing the main character of Aquaman, whose aim is to save the oceanic people from Atlantis’ King Orm before he succeeds to conquer the world.
Growing Up A Misfit
Momoa grew up feeling like a misfit, and this feeling never really left him. Born Joseph Jason Namakaeha Momoa, he was raised by his mother in Iowa, following their move from Honolulu, Hawaii. Born Joseph Jason Namakaeha Momoa, he was raised by his mother in Iowa, following their move from Honolulu, Hawaii.
His father was a painter of Hawaiian descent and his mother was mostly German and was a photographer. Following high school, he moved back to Hawaii and scooped his first successful acting role.
Game Of Thrones Got Him On The Map
After his first season on Game of Thrones, he stated that many casting directors he met, didn’t think he could speak English. However, he says this was definitely an improvement from his years of trying, when casting directors didn’t even know he existed.
“People think I just came out of nowhere,” he says, “but I’ve been hiding in plain sight for a long time.”
Love At First Sight
Momoa and his wife Lisa Bonet are couple goals personified, but how they met is an interesting tale. Momoa has had a crush on her ever since he saw her on TV. Even though he was only at the ripe old age of eight. Apparently, he pointed to the TV and turned to his mother and said, ‘I want that one’.
Years later in 2005, he ended up meeting her at a jazz club through mutual friends. He took her for a meal of Guinness and grits, and he says when he realized she loved Guinness too, it sealed the deal. Now they are now married with two stunning kids. #jealous
