Texts That Show Just How Hard Texting Can Be For Parents

In this day and age, texting is the norm. We all use various apps like Whatsapp, iMessage, and Messenger, to easily message our friends, family, and coworkers. Yet, for some parents, texting is still something that can cause a few issues. One autocorrection or change in language can send parents into a panic as they try to convey whatever important message it is that they need to send. These messages are often laugh-out-loud funny, even if they are frustrating for the parents who are trying to send them. Keep scrolling to see some of the best examples of parents who find texting just a little bit more complicated.
Lost In Translation
Smartphones are pretty amazing. You can choose to have a variety of keyboards in different languages, and simply switch between them. For this parent, though, that extra keyboard they randomly added in their settings was causing them nothing but trouble.

We don’t even know what language this is supposed to be. It looks like a mix of a Scandinavian one and Spanish. Hopefully, their child got the keyboard sorted out quickly for them.
The Friend Parent
Some parents like to lay down the law and make sure that their children stick to a strong moral code; others want to take the friend approach. The friend approach is when the parents treat their child like a close friend, and let their children learn from their mistakes.

This kind of parent expects their child to have fun, go out and party, and fulfill all of their teenage dreams. Judging by this text conversation, this parent decided to text their child as they would a friend. We’re not sure calling your kid a ‘loser’ is the sweetest thing, but that’s the family dynamic this kid seems to be used to.
How To Be Cool
For anyone new to social media apps like Instagram or Twitter, then the phrase hashtagging might seem a bit odd. This parent realized that hashtagging was something they needed to learn if they wanted to keep up with all the cool kids.

The only problem was that hashtagging is not something you say, but something you do in your social media captions and comments. This parent almost had it down, except they neglected to use any ‘#’ during the entire conversation. Clearly, their kid will have to teach them how to actually hashtag. They’ll go from zero hashtagging to too much hashtagging in no time.
Miscommunication
This dad doesn’t have any problems with texting. He was able to text in entire sentences without any weird autocorrect errors. The one thing that is difficult with texting, though, is getting the tone just right.

It’s hard to tell what somebody truly means from a text message, but this dad decided to clear it up right away. He asked his son for some input on which phone he should purchase, and the son thought that meant he would be receiving a new phone. His dad cleared that up for him right away. His sister would be receiving a new phone. We have to admit the timing on these text messages was perfect.
