Blundering Engagement Pictures That Are So Bad They’re Funny

For many couples, getting engaged is a time filled with hope and happiness. Before the wedding takes place, it is tradition to have an engagement photo’s taken that can be sent out with your engagement announcement, save the date cards, and even be used at the reception. These pictures immortalize the moment, and because of this, it is essential to capture the perfect shots of the happy couple. Unfortunately for some couples, the engagement photos they take are not as romantic as they imagined. Keep scrolling to see some of the most hilarious and cringeworthy engagement photos ever taken.

Run For It

The Jurassic Park franchise continues to bring audiences to the theaters, and now it can be brought to engagement photos as well. This groom decided he wanted to feel like one of the raptor wranglers from the film, and his bride-to-be would be a damsel in distress that he needs to save.

Whoever is playing the T-rex has done an excellent job of scaring the bride and groom, and we hope that it made an appearance at the wedding as well.

Bubbles

This one is just plain weird. The engaged couple is all dressed up, but they are in separate plastic bubbles floating in a pool. They can’t even pose together, because they can’t get close enough to each other.

This idea must have come from the photographer who was trying to spice up the wedding photos. This is more of a flop, then a stroke of genius in our opinion. Hopefully, the happy couple got a typical picture after this.

Sneaky Romeo

When Edi Okoro decided he wanted to spend the rest of his life with his girlfriend Calley, he couldn’t wait to pop the question. However, when the moment came, he couldn’t quite pluck up the courage.

He carried the ring everywhere, but each planned attempt just didnt feel like the perfect time. Instead of losing hope, Edi decided to document the experience and snuck the ring in when taking pictures with Calley. The funny part is that Calley never even knew.

Glamor Shot

Back in the 1980s, glamor shots were all the rage. A man, woman, family, or pet would be styled and have their front portrait taken, followed by a profile shot that would be superimposed over the image.

This couple decided to go all out and go for a traditional 80s glamor shot, that also had their pets in it. It looks like something straight out of the film Napoleon Dynamite, and it is something that should be hung on the wall in a place of honor. While we are not sure if they were funny or if this is just their idea of style, this couple may live to regret these snaps.

They Say Chivalry is Dead

It seems this happy couple has a shared interest in fantasy and all things medieval. While they may look like they just wandered out of a renaissance fair, this couple is really possing for their engagement pictures.

The couple managed to find a photographer with a medieval castle background and then dressed up as Lady Gwenevere and Sir Lancelot. How romantic and strange.

Im Batman!

Now, on the list of things you are going to regret in life, dressing up as Batman for your engagement pictures shouldn’t be one of them.

You can tell this lovely lady really loves her fiance because she actually agreed to let him wear that costume! However, this costume choice is going to be a little tricky to explain to the in-laws.

Upside Down

For some reason, this couple thought recreating the upside-down kiss from the spiderman movies would be a good idea.

After all, nothing means romance like Spiderman and upside-down kisses. We bet this took plenty of tries to get right and while it may be a really terrible idea for engagement photos, at least this fiance isn’t wearing the costume too!

Out for a Swim

Nothing says true love like splashing around in a stream. Well, at least that’s what this couple must have been thinking.

In what can only be described as a moment of stupidity, this couple decided to pose for their engagement pics fully clothed in the stream near their home. Let us hope their marriage worked out better than these pictures!

May the Force Be With You

This couple must really like Star Wars because when it came to celebrating their love and taking their engagement pics, they decided to take them while in character.

Why this future bride decided to dress as a sith lord, we will never know. One thing is for sure, their friends and family must have been super confused by this picture when they received the save the date cards.

The Potty

Well, this picture certainly says something about this couple. For the engagement photos, the couple decided to pose around a public portable toilet in the parking lot of their local park.

Yup, that’s right, instead of taking pictures in the woods, they decided to pose next to the toilet. It must be a very special toilet indeed.

Charritots of Fire

Sometimes things don’t really work out as you imaged. Take, for instance, this couple. For their engagement pictures, they decided to snap a shot of them making fun of the concept of marriage.

But in reality, it turned out to be a little weirder than they expected. Now for the rest of their marriage, they will have this picture sitting on their mantle, reminding them of the time they got engaged.

Planking

Planking is not as popular as it once was. A couple of years ago, all anyone wanted to do was get that perfect planking shot. This couple decided to embrace the trend and looked for an area where they could plank to their heart’s content.

They found it in an old railyard on top of a rail car. You would not know this is an engagement photo unless the couple explicitly mentioned that it was.

The Scorned Fiancee

A lot of engagement photos have friends with them. These friends have seen the couple meet, fall in love, and ultimately begin to build a life together. Sometimes the friends even introduced the happy couple to each other, which makes them a part of the relationship.

This couple decided to be funny, and make it look like her boyfriend had scorned the intended bride-to-be. The pictures look like the friend was chosen over her, and we have to admit her acting skills are pretty amazing. She truly looks distraught in the photo, and her groom even looks slightly happier with the other girl.

What’s Up Doc?

Bunnies are pretty adorable. They hop around, have super soft fur, and make pretty good pets for those who don’t want to look after something bigger like a dog or a cat. When this couple got engaged, they knew that their four bunnies needed to be in their engagement photos.

This couple somehow managed to keep all of their bunnies in place for this adorable picture. There must have been some carrots involved, or these bunnies would have hopped all over the place. It seems like a lot of couples really like to incorporate their pets into their photos.

Our Favourite Place

When this happy couple got engaged they decided to take their engagement at the place they had met. Unfortunately, this wasn’t someplace romantic and they ended up taking their pictures at their local superstore.

This funny couple posed for some really strange pics amongst the aisles and if that wasn’t bad enough they even posed for a pic where they both had lampshades over their heads. Their ‘save the date’ card must have been hilarious!

Animal Love

Some couples are a little bit on the strange side, and this couple is definitely one of them. They decided they did not want to be recognized in their engagement photos.

Instead of wearing a regular mask, or simply having photos taken from behind, they wore raccoon masks. Horse masks we have seen, but a raccoon mask is something completely new. If the couple wanted to be trendsetters, we’re not sure they totally achieved that title with this look.

I Don’t

One of the hardest things for friends of the couple getting married is the feeling that they may have lost them to their partner.

This best man decided to play a prank on his friend, and display his emotions about the wedding for everyone to see. He added an “N” and a “T” to his dress shoes for their photoshoot. Now, he is saying “I don’t” to the wedding. We can’t blame him for not wanting to lose his best friend.

Apocalypse Now

There are a lot of different themes that can be used for weddings and engagements. This couple is either terrified of the world ending, or they are very into steampunk.

If we had to guess, we would say they are steampunk fans judging by their Victorian-era clothing. This is definitely a memorable shot, and we’re not sure their respective parents were particularly excited to hang this photo above their mantle.

A Little Bit Trashy

The setting for this photo is just plain weird. The couple decided to pose next to a trash can in a public park. Admittedly, some trash cans are quite modern looking, such as those found in the Netherlands, but this is just your everyday trash can.

The couple seems to be very excited to be jumping out from behind the trash can. We’re not sure if this is supposed to symbolize what their relationship is like, or if this is how they view the wedding industry. Is it supposed to be a metaphor?

Fall Leaves

As summer turns to fall, the leaves begin to change color if you live in a part of the world with deciduous trees. This can be a nice time for a wedding or a fall engagement photo shoot.

This bride-to-be was very excited to pose with some leaves, while her fiance was less than enthused. If we had to guess, we would say that she knows how to pose for the camera with props, and he feels awkward.

Gone Golfing

Golfing is one of those sports that can be a lot of fun for the whole family. A lot of couples travel around the world together and try out different courses. This is one of those couples.

The two love golf so much that they decided it would be the theme for their photos. That groom must trust his soon-to-be wife a lot if he was willing to let her drive a golf ball off the tee in his mouth. We hope there were no mishaps here.

Close Knit

We’re not sure that this couple shares a mutual love of knitting, but the woman loves it. She decided to knit an infinity scarf that binds the two together for eternity.

Her fiance seems pretty happy about the scarf entwined around his neck. These two are now going to be as close-knit as ever. Maybe the bride even decided to knit her wedding dress. Now that would be a dress to remember.

She Said Yes!

At first glance, this engagement picture appears to be one of the most normal ones. The soon-to-be groom is holding his fiancee’s hand while she looks at the camera with delight.

Upon closer inspection, though, you can see that the guy is licking his fiancee’s knuckles, which is why she is making that face. We’re not sure if this is the most appropriate of engagement photos, but it is nice to see how much he wants to make her laugh.

A Ghostly Image

Not all weddings require a couple. Nowadays, some brides or grooms have chosen to marry themselves. This bride seems like she has a fiance, but it is hard to tell as he appears to be a ghost.

This is definitely an ode to Ghost, the film starring Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze. The ghostly fiance materialized in the window, and not while doing pottery for these shots. Hopefully, that groom showed up on the wedding day as well.

Feeling Hoppy

Beer is one of those drinks that a lot of people either love or hate. This couple bonded over their love of beer, which is why they decided to have their engagement photoshoot at their favorite brewery.

It’s pretty adorable to see them dribbling some of their favorite beers into each other’s mouths. What would be pretty funny, is if the groom had chosen one he knew his fiancee did not like. That’s one way to get a picture with a funny face being pulled in it. Now, it’s time for you to go and take your unique engagement photos!

Dog Parents

A lot of couples like to incorporate their pets into their engagement photoshoots and within the wedding itself. This couple had a golden labrador that was very special to them both. They loved their lab so much, that they got matching t-shirts with the dog’s face on it, and got a photograph with the pup as it rolled around in the grass.

We can’t help but wonder when this couple finally has kids if they are going to do the same thing with them. This dog was probably the ring bearer at their wedding, as well. What we really want to know is if the wedding was dog-themed.

Baseball Fever

There are a lot of sports fans out there. Football, tennis, and even baseball can be the kind of sports that tie a couple together. In some cases, they might have even met at one of these fateful games.

This couple decided that Wrigley Stadium was where their engagement photoshoot should happen. They loved the Chicago Cubs, and that love had made their own even stronger. What makes this photo funny, are the doctors’ organizations who are wishing everyone a happy holiday. The gynecologists really want them to have a happy holiday, and thus a happy engagement we think.

Space Mountain

Disneyland is one of those places that appeals to both adults and children. There are intense rides like Space Mountain to enjoy, and bars and restaurants full of delicious food.

This couple decided they wanted to make a big splash with their engagement and show how extreme their wedding was going to be. A ride down Space Mountain, and a well-placed ring finger let the whole amusement park know that their wedding was coming.

Over The Moon

Some grooms cannot believe their good fortune when it comes to who they end up marrying. This groom knew that he had lucked out with his chosen bride-to-be and decided to show this off in his engagement photo.

He had worked on learning how to jump up and click his heels together for weeks before he knew how to get it just right. The resulting image is less than perfect, but you can tell that his fiancee adores him anyways.

Partner Yoga

Exercise is one of the keys to staying healthy and living a long life. Yoga has long been a practice that many people around the world have adopted. It centers the mind and the body.

This couple seems to have bonded through partner yoga, and to show off how they met each other, they decided to have a yoga-themed engagement shoot. You would have to be pretty flexible to manage to kiss your partner in that position.

That’s So Metal

Music is definitely something that can define a relationship. A lot of couples have similar tastes in music, be it the 1970s disco, or black metal.

This couple may not look like they love black metal, which is why they decided to incorporate some extras into their night engagement shoot. It definitely makes the picture unique, while also being slightly ominous. It looks like some kind of ritual is about to take place in the forest, and not the right kind.

The Push-Up

A lot of couples like to show-off for their engagement photos. This can be in the form of fancy locales or simply expensive clothing.

This woman wanted everyone to know that she was marrying a military man. Not only did her fiance wear his fatigues for the picture, but she also sat on top of his back while he did push-ups. It seems like he is going to have to shoulder a lot for this wedding, and put his back into it.
