Everything Everywhere All At Once Leads Winners At 2023 Screen Actors Guild Awards



The 2023 Screen Actors Guild awards were held recently, and Everything Everywhere All at Once, a multiverse fantasy film, emerged as the biggest winner of the night, breaking the record for most wins for a single film.

The film won four major awards, including the night’s most coveted prize for ensemble in a motion picture. Michelle Yeoh won the award for a female actor, while Jamie Lee Curtis and Ke Huy Quan won the two supporting actor awards. In her emotional acceptance speech, Michelle Yeoh dedicated her award to all the girls who look like her and expressed her gratitude for being given a seat at the table.

Ke Huy Quan also delivered a tearful speech, saying that the moment did not belong to him alone, but to everyone who asked for change. He spoke about being the first Asian man to win an individual award in any film category in the history of the SAG awards. Apart from Everything Everywhere All at Once, The White Lotus and Abbott Elementary were also big winners for television. The cast of HBO’s The White Lotus won the award for ensemble in a drama series, while Jennifer Coolidge won outstanding female actor in a drama series. The cast of Abbott Elementary brought home the award for ensemble in a comedy series, with creator and lead Quinta Brunson expressing her gratitude for being a part of the ensemble that makes her a better actor every day. This was the first time in nine years that a network show had won this award.

Sally Field received the life achievement award, presented by her The Amazing Spider-Man co-star Andrew Garfield. In her speech, she said that acting was the only place she could be freely herself and that despite the challenges, she feels thrilled to call herself an actor every day. Overall, Everything Everywhere All at Once has been on a winning streak leading up to the Academy Awards. It has won several major awards, including the Producers Guild award for best picture and best director at the Directors Guild awards.

The film leads the nominations for the 2023 Oscars, which will take place on March 12th.
