Our Favorite Vegan Dessert Hummus Recipe

Though the initial idea might inspire some deserved skepticism, we’re here to tell you that this is one vegan treat that everyone should get behind. Blending chickpeas into an indulgent mix with the right ingredients can result in a scrumptious, creamy bowl that will sate your sweet tooth without the expected guilt. Chickpeas are rich in vitamins and plant-based protein, they are also said to help manage appetite and support digestion and blood sugar control. Ingredients:
1-15oz can of chickpeas, drained and very well rinsed
1/4 cup natural creamy peanut butter
1/4 cup pure maple syrup
3 tbsp unsweetened vanilla almond milk
2 tbsp cocoa powder
2 tsp vanilla extract
Method:
Drain chickpeas and rinse very well. Combine all ingredients in a large food processor. Blend for a full two minutes. Scrape down the sides and blend a bit longer, or until very smooth. Refrigerate for 1-2 hours before topping with dark chocolate chips and serving.
