Well, they have certainly had their ups and their downs for Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner, but it seems there might still be light at the end of the tunnel for the pair. After what can only be described as an emotional week for the actor, Affleck spoke candidly and openly about the recent events of his life.
Always there to help
When Ben and Jen first got married, they were considered one of Hollywood’s favorite couples, and we can’t help but admit that we really thought the couple would last. Sadly though, it all came crashing down in 2018. While the couple has continued to focus on their children – Violet, 13, Seraphina, 10, and Samuel, seven- it seems Ben’s troubles led to the divorce. Ben told reported how supportive Jen had been when Ben felt he was out of control. The actor said that no matter how bad he got, Jen was always there to help when he asked for it. In fact, when Ben decided to seek help for his difficulties, it was Jen who drove him to the treatment center.
Living with Regret
When asked what his biggest regret was, Ben became very emotional and revealed, “The biggest regret of my life is this divorce. Shame is really toxic,” he said. It seems that through it all, Ben really didn’t want to get divorced, and even Jen has admitted that had it not been for Ben’s substance issues, the pair would still be married.
From the Heart
During his interview with Goodmorning America ben revealed something that brought tears to everyone’s eyes. The actor read a letter he had written his ex-wife that mentioned how much he thanked her for being a good wife, a fantastic mother and a great person.
Honestly its clear that both Jen and Ben respect one another tremendously which will only help them be better co-parents.
