How to successfully manage stress
There are a lot of health conditions that are stress related, such as high blood pressure, high heart rate, irritable bowel syndrome, and it can also have a negative effect on certain mental health conditions. We need to learn how to manage stress more efficiently so that it doesn’t affect our health so much.
Exercise
One of the more effective ways to burn stress is by exercising. Stress releases a lot of hormones, such as cortisol and adrenaline that in high doses can be counterproductive. While you do physical activity, the body releases other beneficial hormones, such as endorphins, that uplifts you emotionally and physically. Regularly hitting the gym or even taking a short walk on a daily basis will do amazing things for your health.
Better Sleep
Never underestimate the importance of a good full night’s sleep. This part is fundamental when we are trying to better manage stress. But, due to stress, a lot of people find it difficult to fall asleep or it affects the quality of it. A good tip is to meditate before going to bed, it helps you clear your mind. Reading a book or taking a warm bath to relax our body can also do the trick.
Share your worries
It’s essential that we share our feelings with other people close to us or with a therapist. If we let our worries build up inside over time, it will explode on us. There are options, such as talking to a professional, or a loved one who knows our personality well and can give us specialized advice.
Manage your time
Sometimes we get the feeling as if time were running out, we have so much to do in so little time. It’s important to take back control of your time. Make lists in priority order to accomplish things more efficiently. You can give yourself deadlines to do the laundry or ask for support with projects such as painting the walls. Organizing time is key to relieve stress.
