Parents annoyed when Mom charges kids $85 for son’s birthday party
If you have children, there’s a high chance that you have sent your kids to various children’s parties over the years. After all, there’s nothing more exciting for them than running around with their friends, eating cake, drinking pop, and celebrating another birthday. These parties are always fun, but have you ever been asked to contribute to them? One mom recently faced backlash after she insisted that each of the guests at her son’s party owed her $85 for tagging along. Imagine taking your child to a birthday party and receiving a bill at the end!
Celebrating in style
As a kid, some of your fondest memories are made at kid’s birthday parties and that’s why parents try their best to let their kids have fun. Parents put in a lot of planning to make sure their kids have the perfect day and often this can be pretty expensive.
While most parents accept that they should pay for their kid’s parties, one mom decided that she wasn’t going to pay for her son’s birthday bash. Instead, she planned to pass the cost on to the other parents. Naturally, this didnt go down well with many of the parents and most of the internet complaining.
Under Pressure
Although this is not uncommon, it seems as though times are changing and parents are asking for more during the planning process.
This isn’t something that everyone is happy with, as it then puts pressure on the other parents and whether they can afford it or not. Most of the time parents are reasonable in what they ask other parents to pay, but sometimes people can just be plain rude.
An enraged mom
One enraged mom has brought these changing times to the attention of the internet, thanks to a story she posted on Mumsnet. She decided to explain the predicament within this online community.
Reaching out, she wanted to know what other moms thought of the situation. After all, she thought that something was fishy was going on.
A new student
In her post, the mom decided to tell her story. She noted that her son was 14 years old but relatively new to his school. He had found it a struggle to fit in with the other boys and girls in his class, and was therefore over the moon when he was invited to another boy’s birthday party.
Although he knew that the whole class had been invited and he was included because of that, he thought it would be the best chance to really solidify some of the friendships he had made over the past few weeks.
