Not Exactly as Advertised: Unfortunate Dresses Bought Online

Prom is an important highschool milestone and choosing the perfect prom dress can be tricky. While some girls find their perfect dresses in stores, others look online for great deals.

If you have ever bought anything online you will know that sometimes the picture doesn’t match the reality and what you get isn’t what you see. That’s why sometimes buying a prom dress online is not the best idea. Keep reading to see some of the funniest online prom dress order fails

Fake It Till You Make It

For once we have a dress that actually looks exactly like the picture. The sequins, material, and skirt are exactly what they were marketed as which is a first. But the problem here is that this teen did not anticipate how the sheer mesh top would look on her. From afar, the dress looks kind of ethereal but close up it looks like she is just wearing a sheer top.

This dress leaves little to the imagination and could definitely have been on the more flattering side. Perhaps if she dyes it, it will look a little less risque because right now it is a little bit more on the indecent side of things.

The Little Mermaid

With so many different dress styles to choose from it can be really hard to know what will be flattering on your body type. You might think that a certain style you love will be your top pick but when you try it on it might leave a little bit to be desired. That’s why buying your dream dress online is so risky, not only might it look cheap but it can also be a style that simply does not look good on you.

This teen’s dress looks like it is a combination of both. It is too big, has random sleeves, and is simply just not flattering. The only good thing about it is the color and with so much fabric making up the skirt maybe she was able to repurpose it into a new dress.

Paper Bag Princess

This dress is beautiful. At least the one that appears to be being sold that is. In real life, it doesn’t exactly have the same fit and drape. In fact, the pink skirt actually looks like it is made out of crinkled paper which makes the whole thing look kind of tacky. At least the top is pretty, albeit a bit baggy.

The girl was probably less than enthused when she tried on this dress and realized that it was a bit more like a paper bag than a prom gown.

Made In China

China is known for being the manufacturer of the world but quantity does not always mean quality and this dress is a prime example of that. Just because this dress seemed like a good deal does not mean that it is actually wearable which this poor girl obviously found out.
