Sugar and Gluten-Free Decadent Chocolate and Hazelnut Bites



Healthy eating does not mean you have to deprive yourself of the occasional sweet treat. This easy-to-make recipe is the perfect bite-sized indulgence for those moments when you can’t help but yearn for a little something sweet to pair with your afternoon tea. This recipe is gluten free and is made sans any refined sugar. The dark chocolate boasts a wonderful anti-oxidant kick and the hazelnuts are loaded with nutrients and healthy fats.

Ingredients:
100g of hazelnuts
200g of dates
2 tbsp of maple syrup or date syrup
1 pinch of sea salt
2 tbsp of oats
150g good quality dark chocolate

Method:
1. Place everything but the chocolate in a food processor and process until smooth.
2. Place the mixture in a baking paper-lined tray, about 2 cm thick and freeze for 1 hour until hardened.
3. Melt the chocolate, cut the bar into bite size squares and dip each square in the chocolate. Place back in the freezer to harden up and indulge!
