The Batman Trailer Breakdown

We finally have the “The Batman” trailer available, so we have taken the time to break down the most shocking moments of the footage detail by detail.
The trailer has allowed us to review what we now know by unpublished photos or information that was passed on in the press and compare it with what the director Matt Reeves has chosen to show in the clip. It seems incredible, but in fact it is about 10 years since the last Batman movie release “The Dark Knight Rises”. It was about time to see our hero in action again. Fortunately, the trailer left us with quite revealing moments about the central plot of the film and how several key points were circumvented.

Wealth Better Spent

Should Batman have used his money to help the people of Gotham instead of fighting in the shadows? For decades, this has been a topic of debate for the superhero. Here, we see how Bella Reál’s character used this argument by telling him, “You know, you really could be doing more for this city. Your family has a history of philanthropy, but as far as I can tell you’re not doing anything.”

Immediately after, we see how Bruce smiles with some sarcasm; a clear nod to the audience, who knows that there are things that are unknown and must remain a secret.

Car Chasing

This is undoubtedly one of the most iconic scenes that the trailer gives us. Not only because it lets us see how Batman survives a terrible car chase that ends up in an explosion and flames, but it also allows us to have a nice close-up to the character of Oswald Cobblepot, better known as the Penguin.

It appears that the Penguin believes he has defeated his opponent when, out of the midst of the fire, he sees the superhero emerge unhurt. We finally see our protagonist approaching the penguin’s car with his cape flapping, leaving us wanting more.

Mysterious Message

The Penguin is not the only character in the DC universe shown in the trailer, in fact, they let us see a glimpse of what the interaction between Batman and Riddler, another of the classic supervillains, will be like. We can see that the character played by Paul Dano, will most certainly be a key piece in this next film.

The director shows us how Jim Gordon tells Batman “The Riddler has been asking for you” while in the background there are numerous images of the different encrypted messages that this villain is leaving for everyone to see.
