With the NFL Play-off’s in full swing, we take a look at the players who will be taking the lead during these important games this January and February – will you agree?
Aaron Donald – Los Angeles Rams
There is no denying the player who has dominated the NFL this season. Even if you are not a Los Angeles Rams fan, you can appreciate how good this guy is on the field. Aaron Donald just missed breaking the all-time single-season record for the most sacks ever recorded with his 20.5 score, only two shy off the top record. We feel sorry for anyone that has to face him one-on-one, as let’s face it, we all know who is going to be winning that one.

Patrick Mahomes – Kansas City Chiefs
To say he is a first-year starter, you would never believe how well this guy has been performing. Patrick Mahomes has had twelve wins, 5,097 yards, and an incredible 50 touchdowns. It is almost a certainty that he is the front-runner at scooping the league’s Most Valuable Player award. All teams facing Kansas City will have to be ready to take on Mahomes.

Khalil Mack – Chicago Bears
The Chicago Bears certainly have Khalil Mack to thank for turning their defense around, he has been there targeting opposing blockers and helping everyone around him in his team even better. Amazingly, he accumulated 12.5 sacks in just 14 games, securing his highest score since 2015.

Drew Brees – New Orleans Saints
This quarterback has had an epic season and we’re certain it will land him a place in the hall of fame. As the Saints made their way to the NFC’s top seed, he has been one of the best in the business. Brees even went on to break his own record from last year, as he completed almost 75% of his passes. At 39, it seems he is only getting better as he gets older.

Tom Brady – New England Patriots
Outstandingly, Tom Brady holds the NFL title for the longest-serving playing quarterback for one franchise, after Brady joined the Patriots way back in 2001. Not only that but since he joined, the Patriots have gone on to win 15 division titles. This season has actually been a hard one for Brady, but his bad season is a good season to most. He is one of the most accomplished players in the playoffs.

DeAndre Hopkins – Houston Texans
Nicknamed “Nuk”, the Texans wide receiver has certainly had one hell of a ride since he was first drafted by the Texans only five years ago. There has been much talk this season regarding Hopkins being the league’s top receiver, and we’ll second that. In his sixth season, he has impressively never dropped one single pass out of his 159 targets!

Justin James Watt – Houston Texans
To us, we know the defensive end player as “J.J” and throughout 2018, Watt worked hard to remind fans that he is one of the NFL’s finest defenders. Following a couple of campaigns full of injury, Watt racked up 16 sacks and several forced fumbles. Having scooped Defensive Player of the Year three times already, Watt is of course up there with some of the best.

Bobby Wagner – Seattle Seahawks
Drafted into the Seahawks back in 2012, linebacker Bobby Joseph Wagner is no doubt one of the best defenders in the NFL. Most will agree, that without Wagner this season, the Seahawks wouldn’t have made into the playoffs. This year he missed only one tackle and it looks as though he will just be piped to the post by Aaron Donald for Defensive Player of the Year.

Andrew Luck – Indianapolis Colts
Colt’s Luck has always been a great quarterback and while he played football at Stanford, he was awarded Player of the Year and was noted as an All-American on a couple of occasions. This season, he has blown our expectations out of the water, which is incredible considering he missed out of the 2017 campaigns due to a shoulder injury.

Phillip Rivers – Los Angeles Chargers
Even though some might disagree, it has to be said that quarterback Rivers played the best he has ever played this season. His accuracy has been something that has enabled his receivers to make the best play. With the Super Bowl in sight, Rivers could be the one that pushes the Chargers to that most wanted spot.

The critics have a lot to say about this player, but Hill is the player that can turn a game around in a second. Known as one of the fastest players in the league, he caught 27 passes. Whichever opposing side he is going up against needs to be clocking Hill at every second. Defenders do not get a spare minute around him.
