Meghan Markle May Be Residing At A Regal Address, But This Is The Toronto Townhouse She Traded In

Meghan Markle was born and raised in Los Angeles. She later moved to Toronto, where she was filming the show Suits. Now she resides across the pond as a Duchess,in a real life fairy tale, but we wonder if she still left part of her heart in Canada. Judging from her old digs, she lived very comfortably with her pooches. Let’s take a look inside.

Before She Was A Duchess

Before the Duchess of Sussex, became a fully fledged member of the British royal family, with a handsome prince to call her own, she was able to live sort of a normal life. She has had to give up a lot for her fairy tale to come true.

Given Up Her Freedom

Meghan packed her bags and moved to marry Prince Harry; she also had to delete her Instagram account due to the need for privacy in the Royal Family. In addition, the duchess chose to be baptised into another religion and abide by specific protocol on dress and behavior. And that’s not to forget that she has also given up her career as an actress.

That’s not all Meghan has had to say goodbye to after marrying Harry: her former Toronto abode. Furthermore, the trendy townhouse that was once her home has now gone on the market, and it’s super stunning, also extremely pricey, but then again, she is now a Royal, or should we say a Duchess.

So how much are we talking? Well, the property it said to have been on the market for $1,395,000 CAD ($1,067,000 USD). Of course it was snapped up very quickly, hello, new claim to fame living in the Duchess’s old digs, but let’s take a look at what lies inside.

Fortunately for us all, her old home at 10 Yarmouth Road used to feature on her Instagram page giving us a taste for how the other half live, and thankfully there are pictures of what it is like inside, so we can get a glimpse of how she decorated. We wonder if she has the same style now she is a royal.

Judging from photos, this town house was decorated to a T, and was very cosy. Meghan definitely seems the type of person to know her interiors stuff. From cosy throws to bright lights and pastel shades, we can’t wait to see what else she has done to the place.

What else can we see here? Well the dining area oozes taste and style, with the curtains and large gold mirror, which really creates a focal point in the room. We are definitely fans of the art work here too, which shows us that she knows her stuff. We can tell she likes an open space and light airy feel to the room, we wonder if she has that now in her cottage with Harry or it is more traditional old English style.

It seems that she prefers the minimalist style from her interiors. Stark white and regal, we wonder if she ever practiced walking like a princess in here, or if Harry came to visit. Or if she talked about him round the table with her co-stars.

Kitchen Goals

We know that Meghan and Harry love to cook, and he even proposed over a roast chicken, we wonder how many romantic nights they had here talking about their future nuptials over a freshly cooked meal.

Roomy and Spacious Enough For A Royal

The townhouse is certainly spacious enough, with two bathrooms and a large bedroom. Whoever bought it from the Duchess, will be able to have their own bathroom, always a plus. We wonder if Megs has her own across the pond.

Understated With A Touch Of Luxury

10 Yarmouth Road is quite the property, boasting three gorgeous bedrooms, and of course Meghan’s was the best. She knows how to add a hint of luxury in whatever she does, whoever snapped up this place will get some good beauty sleep.

Decor On Point

Every bedroom is decorated with plush accessories, and luscious pillows boasting the ultimate comfort. The grey walls give a luxury boutique hotel vibe, we can only image the new owners were very happy. Meghan was famously set up with her prince by her best friend Jessica Mulroney, we wonder if she stayed in this room. Let’s keep exploring shall we.

The smaller shower room is a stark contrast to the master bathroom, with its bright white color, which accentuates the light. How many guest bathrooms do you think she has now?

The Basement

The basement is roomy and well lit, perhaps she hosted parties and Suits nights here. Or maybe it was even a huge closet space for the actress. Judging by her shoe collection. Well we can only imagine what her closet looks like now.

Her Best Friends

Before she had to delete her Instagram, Markle was always posting pictures of her beloved dogs on her social media page, getting cosy in her townhouse with her. They looked like they had a life of luxury in their digs, sadly she was only able to bring one of her pooches with her. We wonder if they are friends with the Queen’s corgis.

The yard is basic but stylish, great for entertaining, and judging by the pooches, they seem to have enjoyed catching the rays a lot.

 

Outdoor Space

The space definitely lends itself to outdoor entertaining, with a lot of potential for lovely plants and a big bbq. Even in the throws of the Canadian winter, with snow, and heaters it could be cosy with a hot choc.

New Owners

Just imagine being the new owners of this and jumping into the cosy bed. We love the interiors of the room and the brightness of the space.

Home Sweet England

Meghan has since moved on to greener (or greyer) pastures in Nottingham Cottage in Kensington Palace in London, we don’t believe that it will be small even though it is called a cottage. She still holds onto her time in Toronto very dearly and that house that she created lot’s of memories in. We hope we get to see what it looks like on the inside. Just imagine the Christmas decorations.

Megs would love to go back after a long day of filming and pour herself a glass of wine with the dogs.

The room boasts warm and inviting vibes, and we can see that this is their favorite spot. Just imagine her and Harry getting all snuggly on the sofa.

Meghan used to love entertaining, and here was a perfect space for it. For a town house, it boasted a big garden which can be rare.

From old Instagram pictures we can see that the once actress used to spend a lot of time in her townhouse getting cosy from the cold canadian winter with her doggies, reading to them and telling them all her secrets.
