The Addams Family
While there may be a new animated Addams Family film out in cinemas right now, this film is a classic and nothing says Halloween like the dark mystery of the Addams’s and their spooky mansion. First released in 1991, the film follows the lives of the Addams clan as they search for their long-lost Uncle Fester. When a stranger named Gordon shows up at their door claiming to be him, hilarity ensues as the fraudster attempts to steal the family fortune. This was the first time that fans of the Addams Family got to see the family on the big screen and the cast, soundtrack, and storyline did not disappoint. Even after all these years since its release, the film still captures the imagination.
Beetlejuice
This Tim Burton Classic turned the concept of a haunted house on its head. The story follows a newly dead couple as they grapple to come to terms with being dead and having a new family move into their home. The pair decide to haunt their house in order to drive the new owners away, but things go horribly awry when they accidentally summon Beetlejuice and enlist his help.
Starring Michael Keaton, Alec Baldwin, Geena Davis and Winona Ryder this hauntingly hilarious film is a masterpiece that you want to watch again and again. it is also a great film to find Halloween costume inspiration!
The Addams Family Values
The sequel to the Addams Family film released 2 years earlier, Addams Family Values is just as good…if not better than the first film. Enjoy watching the family as the newly returned Uncle Fester searches for a bride and Wednesday and Pugsley terrify summer camp. The original cast returned for this spooktacular sequel and was joined by the talented Joan Cusack. This is one of those films that can be watched repeatedly, and it never gets old.
Nightmare Before Christmas
Another Tim Burton classic, a Nightmare Before Christmas will have you captivated as you sing along with Jack, Sally and everyone from Halloweentown as they work to take over Christmas.
This 1993 dark fantasy film is a cult favorite with a fantastically original storyline, amazing stop motion animation, and an addictive soundtrack. Halloween just wouldn’t be Halloween without the Nightmare Before Christmas!
